hey ppl im pretty new on this thing but iv been doing weights for 3 yrs now n i cant put any weight on so iv started taking protein called horleys mass gainer i was juz wondering if it would be right for me considering im a apprentice bricklayer in australia so i burn heaps of carbs in 40dg heat and dont get much time 2 eat except for when i get home breakfast and break?

There is always time to eat. If consuming actual food is the problem take multiple shakes with you throughout the day. Now to help you properly, what are your stats? Height, weight, and you goal, along with bf%'s you are looking to achieve and what you think you are right now.

my height is 175cm weight 70kg id b low bf i wanna get to about 90kg/100kg can i juz take more shakes during the day it says only take 3?

Being a former bricklayer and construction worker myself, I know your postion. Try to keep a couple of protein bar's in your pocket and eat them before they melt. Your working habits dictate how and when you can actually eat. You may have to stick this out until your have a more steady eating routine..

For me I burned all the calories off and could not gain an ounce until a left the job.

You can take more than 3 shakes a day, I remember Lee Priest saying in an article, there is no replacement for food, but shakes were the next best thing, if you can't eat food have a shake. Personally for me, I am on the road a lot and I don't have time to be eating, so I keep about 4-5 shakes with me throughout the day (1 of them is a fast digesting weight gainer I use for post workout) so 4 normal shakes for during the day. I also eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and if I can get another meal in I will, but I have to have at least 8 servings of protein a day. Now since I use lbs as a weight of measurement this is how I generally determine calories for weight gain. Bodyweight x 18-20 (for you since you burn alot I would go with 20) and that should give you your calorie consumption for the day. Now you are going to want to take in about 2 grams of protein per pound you weigh and about 3-4 grams of carbs. You also want to make sure 10% of your calorie consumption is good fats (omega 3's, fish oils, cod liver oil, flaxseed oil, etc...). Since you have long times between meals/shakes a good slow digesting weight gainer would probably work best for you, something like ON ProComplex Gainer or BSN TruMass, they digest slower and give you the calories you need, ON has more calories though, so that would help you a lot more.

Let me know what the conversion is for lbs to kg is I gotta run, I will break it down further for you when I get back and have the conversion. Hope this helps a bit and gets you started. We can work on a meal plans to get you started to the wonderful world of weight gain.

Hey bud I work construction also so this is what I do to try and eat as much whole food as I can. On the weekends boil up about 18 eggs and pre cook 10 turkey breasts or chicken if you prefer. in the mornings I eat 3 of the boiled eggs and my protein shake in your case it would be your gainer its quick and easy. then take your 2 turkey breasts throw each them in two wraps in mine I also throw low fat cheddar and spinach leaves and lowfat condiment of your choice toss them into a pocket or in your brick bag to eat through the day on your way home chug another shake and have dinner when you get home and casein b4 bed and done. Mostly whole food and you will gain lean muscle while working. I started out a 160 lb. construction worker with un known lean mass and now I am well over 200 lbs. With a recently measured 180.6 lbs of lean mass. It just takes a little pre planning on your days off.

great idea from someone who had to do it. Listen diet is the name of the game, make time to eat or down a shake, even if its 2 minutes, wolf that shit down and keep going! The weight will come!
