Ok so now I'm dead set on getting some, perferably during the winter break after exams [which are next week], sort of like a early christmas present slash reward for finishing exams. I'm sure people can identify with me, seeing hundreds of choices, hundreds of brands, it makes picking the right one really hard. I want to get huge, as my userbar says. I work out hard once a week on my upper, lower, back, chest and I know I could really benefit from some of it. Could a newb like me get some solid recommendations, brands?

like in the other thread you posted i said you could read the sticky post we have here about creatine and it tells you the different types of it. and yes its just plain old creatine. you can buy it cheap online or at your vitamin shop. and i believe there some people who use ON.

i use allmax products because i get it for free...i know the distributor of allmax and bsn in toronto so i get them all for a super cheap price, if not free.

but opt. nutrition is good. and the 2 ^up there are great also

so is muscletech. i am convinced its gotta be pretty good. pisses me off how there is like 29 ads in a magazine for it

Yeah I know what you mean about MuscleTech, they're ads every 3 pages in those Muscle mags, but I don't think is special. I mean the big magazines with the ripped guys on the cover, they don't have articles, it's just all ads. I don't think it's a reputable brand.

Before considering a supplementation plan u might wanna start working out more than 1 time per week. If not that creatine wont get shuttled into the muscle cells & will only cause excess water retention.

I don't really agree with your logic, he should be working out more than a week I agree but creatine doesn't even need to be taken in close to post or pre workout times to work even.

I've started loading phases on creatine on weeks where Im taking breaks from lifting from my training cycles and it works still. And creatine in general causes water retention but its intermuscular water retention.

Thats one of the main keys why it helps to give strength and even growth increases. A more hydrated environment in the muscles allows for a more anabolic enviornment. The increase in muscular size allows for physical advantage as well.

I take a week off every so often when im repetedly lifting heavy. Helps me come back with a vengence.

you cant be expected to perform heavy heavy heavy for months on end. its beneficial to take those week breaks.

Well I can work out twice a week on upper [like on monday then on thurs] and lower [sun then on weds], that's no problem. I love working out; it's been kinda hard telling myself to only go in once a week to workout.

Hydrated? I drink 2 liters of water everyday, and about 2 when I workout, so I think I've got that covered.

I should take an off week from the creatine once I get started you say? Like 4 weeks with, then 1 without, back to the 4 weeks, etc?
