Glutamine itself occurs naturally inside of the body. Over 60% of all skeletal muscle is composed of glutamine. It is important in the synthesizing of muscle tissue, therefore "experts" (let me quote that) speculate it increases sythesis of protein in the body and decreases fatigue. As stated above, there are NO conclusive tests that make this any more true than what I've typed out here.
Personally, I take both BCAA's and L-Glutamine on a daily basis, especially pre and post workout. Might be my mind playing tricks on me but I do feel glutamine is an important aspect if you are an intense lifter. BCAA's do work, and they work well, take those, no questions asked.
