right hers the deal,

im doing 4 day splits at the mo, would be doin 5 if i had a gym where i live on fri sat and sun. cos during the week i live in a city, were as at the week end back at home.

so for the last 2 months, ive been the same weight., been workin out as hard as possible, and my diet is pretty good. i even asked a few of the trainers in the gym if it was ok for what i was doin and they said it was fine,

im on whey protein by nutrition x, and as far as improvments go, ive been putting on a light more size measurment wise all over, and my body fat droped (a tiny tiny bit)

so my question is, would ye recoment a weight gainer suplement along with the whey?

thanks in advace

You said you can't gain weight. That means you aren't eating enough. Simple as that.

Seems like if youve put on that much muscle size then to stay the same weight you would of had to loose a lot of fat? Or you would definitely be weighing more with that kind of muscle growth. Sounding very weird to me for some reason.

genetics play a part, what body type are you?

I think it's most likely diet, however in saying that, i had the same issue over the past few months (though i could put weight on but not muscle, even with a properly good diet, exercise and eating 8 times a day). My trainer sent me for a blood test and it turns out i have low free testosterone.
i'd say try and rule out everything else (eating, lifting and resting!) and when you know you're not slacking on any of those, go get some blood tests.

Also, are you going for size or strength, although the two are related, different exercises will bias towards one of the other.

Are you sore in the muscles groups a day or so after?
Are you having protein IMMEDIATELY after lifting?

yep and yep! im going for size and when i said i still put an inch or so on my arms in the same period, that was towards the start, like it wasnt like over the wole time, i mean they were 13 inches, went to 14 and have been at that for about a month and a half,

i did have a fair bit of body fat and i was thinkin thats what was being burnt off, but tbh, if read up on diets online and stuff, and i dont think what i thought was great was that good at all. the food groups were ok, just eatiing them at the rong times, and not enough!

so im going to work on that alot now, see if i can start puttin the mass on again. would it m\ke a difference if i was making major gains in size and strength for about 2 months before this happined?

/edit, forgot to say, sorry for my ignorence, not been at this seariously for long, only about 8 months, so still learnin!!!

hey, i've only been going since february this year.
was not an active person before then.

Genetically your body will have a shape that it likes to be.
If you are far from that shape when you start you will rapidly move toward that shape as both your body and mind are of the same will (think bell curve, with ease of attainment on the y axis and your bodies natural shape smack in the middle of the bell on the x axis).
Additionally, when you first start lifting and cardio your body is not used to this, and it over reacts, you get good results very quickly. But if you were to just do the same exercises and never vary the speed or style you will plateau, which is to say your results will tail off, you'll keep getting better, but at a much slower rate; Because your body is used to this.

However, all of these things pale into insignificance when compared to your nutrition.
Some, and I’m sure others will disagree, say that it's about 70% nutrition 30% exercise in achieving your goals.

For me, my stumbling block is mental, I don’t push myself as hard as I should, I get demotivated and it becomes a viscous circle.
My trainer said to me the other day “if I could take you back to February and show you a picture of you now you’d be ecstatic, but right now, you’re not”
And the only difference is my attitude.

As far as the weight gainer question is concerned there are 2 good ways to go (this is what I follow and it has worked great especially since i weigh 245lbs and it takes a lot of food/protein/carbs/calories to gain weight and make good gains. IDS Smartgainer for postworkout only since it is a fast digesting shake which is important since you want to get all the nutrients into your muscles asap. Now before anyone goes off the handle about trumass and cytogainer here is the other part of it. Both of those are great gainers, but they are slower digesting which is good for during the day between meals but not good postworkout because like i said before you want all the nutrients into the body after the workout. So IDS Smartgainer for postworkout and BSN trumass or cytogainer during the day between meals. Make sure you are eating 6-8 times during the day.
