Over the past month or so I've been going to the gym my main goal was to gain some size. I increased my caloric intake by approx 1000 calories/day and I have noticed that I'm able to lift more at the gym, but I've barely gained any weight (approx. 1/2 lb.)

I've been taking muscle milk as a supplement, a friend had reccomended it to me. Is there anything better out there as far as supplements go that one would reccomend?

You have only been lifting one month, so instead of using a supplement, it would be better to get your diet and training in check. Are you following any training style? Whats your diet look like now (caloric intake, macro split, times between meals). Theres alot you can do without supplements, people rely on them too much. Its the hard work ethic, dedication, and drive thats going to help you get big. Lift, Eat, Sleep, Grow.

After your diet and training are in good order, then worry about the supplements but for now i could only recommend maybe some WPI(whey protein isolate), and WMS(waxy maize starch) and possibly some creatine mono.

eat lots of meat and good carbs...not alot of sugary carbs..those are no good

as far as supplements go, cytogainer or truemass is good stuff...but only use those to supplement your meals...not as meal replacements if your trying to bulk

so eat 6-8 meals a day consisting of protein, clean carbs, and lots of veggies...and youll grow

Eat a lot of protein and carbs for size. Try to eat healthy and train hard. Size comes with your work ethic so the hader you work out, the more your body needs those key vitamins to keep you going.

as far as my current food intake, it usually consists of a couple turkey sandwiches throughout the day. possibly pizza/burger or other fastfood for lunch (i work retail so there really isn't too much around there) and then usually fish/chicken/beef when I get home at night..
