Hi,guys.
Thank you for your reply in advance.

I usually drink whey two times per day.One is before breakfast, the other is after my workout in the afternoon.

But still someone tell me that it's not efficient to drink before breakfast. It said that I'd better drink it with breakfast or just after breakfast.

I'm sure that the one in the afternoon is no problem.

So who could give me a certain word and prove it.

Please consider I'm not in a diat and want to gain more weight.

You also may want to consieder taking a slow-digesting casein protein shake before bed. Whey would be best at other times of the day.

If you have whey before workout like gym_addict said have a think abotu what you mix it with.. i know that with me, if i mix it with milk like i usually do then i start to feel rather sick mid workout, but if i mix it with water, it doesnt taste as good, but goes down a lot smoother for the workout.

Depend what type of training because you wouldnt obviously take protein on board 30 minutes before a run but if weights I agree and straight after I think is appropriate as you have ripped your muscle fibres to encourange them to grow and protein is what heals your muscles. Can even have one of a night so your muscles can repair throughout the night as thats when you recover most.

You guys are so warm.
Two things need to clarify.
I just take one type whey:ON's golden whey.
So I think it would be a waste to take it before sleep.Usually I take the other resources:rice ,eggs.sort of.

Second,I want to know, should I take one before breakfast or after breakfast.I'm always confused about it.Need your comment on it.

Thank you ,Skeptic.I would rather not take it before work-out,cauz I have the same problem.

Your muscles need nutrients during the workout, so taking it pre wo, and immediatly post wo works great. Mix with water, never mix with milk pre wo. Milk sits in your stomach and therefore makes you lag and feel sick because its sitting thick. Not to mention if you throw up at the gym its going to smell terrible. Take whey during the day, and take CASEIN at night, casein is a slow release protein that works great because your muscles are getting nutrients to strike growth all throughout the hours you are sleeping. Remember these are supplements, not meals...so eat your egg whites, rice, chicken etc...and ADD extra protein into your diet throughout the day. Meals work great getting all nutrients however to give you that little extra, thats where your shakes come in.

I would suggest after your brekie so that it can absorb. Taking it before then eating straight after might effect its effectiveness in trying to absorb if you get me lool whereas taking it after your breakfast it can have time to absorb without anything getting in its way

If you were going to take whey with your breakfast, I would suggest doing it before breakfast. Take your whey (with vitargo or dextrose if you like) first thing in the morning before you prepare your breakfast to get your body out of catabolism as quickly as possible.

U can take protein anytime during the day and taking it with breakfast is fine just as taking any other protein source with breakfast is fine. It is ideal however to have ur early morning protein with good carbs as they shuttle the protein to the muscles as well as providing slow release energy until ur mid morning meal. I take one scoop of WPI with a cup of oats at the moment as well as flax. If u cant get BCAA normally get a protein drink with it already in and consume during and directly after ur WO. The main point is that whey can be taken anytime of day.

whey immediatly after WO with dextrose or fast acting carbs like some rice cakes or a simple suger like a banana, followed by another meal an hr later...taking in whey an hr after a WO won't do alot for you...
