Haven't tried personally, but I don't see why not. As long as the water isn't acidic at all I think you should be fine. "Vitamin water" is a pretty generic term, so check the label and make sure there aren't any acidic elements to it - taking creatine with anything acidic could give you the runs.

Other guys here are more experienced in this stuff than me and will probably chime in with more educated real world experience answers.

lol, Beat me to the post! lol But yeah, as WM said, I don't see a problem with it as long as the acid levels are low or non-existant.

You see what boggles me is that when you guys say make sure the vitamin water has no acidic properties, then why take it in at all? Last time I took Anatomy&Physiology class, the stomach is very acidic. Hmm wouldn't that just denature the creatine and turn it into creatinine, which is bad for the body.

Its fine to mix it with sports drinks, i always do. The acidity level is minimal in these drinks, aka they will not promote the conversion of creatine to creatinine. All citrus juices should def. be avoided though( OJ, grapefruit, etc...), they will def. cause denaturation and render your creatine useless. The simple process of the creatine entering your stomach decreases its effectiveness. For a 5g dose you're muscles are probobly only seeing about 3 or so grams total. One of the best things to mix it with is grape juice ive always been told. I tend to disagree because it is pretty acidic (3.5 or so), although it does have simple sugars that cause insulin to be released in the body, which then in turn transports creatine into your muscle....

I was told by my football trainer that when taking creatine with water, your muscles don't absorb all the creatine that your taking in. He said he had researched it in college and found that you muscles absorb the most creatine when taken with grape juice. However, I take pure creatine, not the sugar/creatine stuff.

Taking in simple sugars after a workout is what you want to do (along with Protein). It does a number of things to help aid in recovery and muscle building. Taking in sugar will boost Insulin levels. Insulin, having anabolic capabilties, is something that needs to be spiked after a workout. How does one do this...simple sugars. IMO, after a workout would be the only time to really focus on taking in some sort of simple sugar ( i.e. gatorade, grape juice etc.)
You need to take in creatine with some form of simple sugar to help drive the creatine into the muscles. This is how the creatine is absorbed and put to use.
Knocking two down with one shot here.....take in your sugar for the insulin spike and to absorb your creatine. Weather or not the acidic content of the drink is messing with you and your toilet visits....I would stay away from the OJ and all that(as said in previous post). Me personally, never had a problem takin in a lemon-lime gatorade with some creatine after a workout. To each their own on that one lol. Something might totally mess with you and do nothing to me or vice versa.

I'm not so sure about some acidic in general. I always tried to stay away from citric acid. That little bastard will keep you in the bathroom, at least in my case, when mixed with creatine.

You don't need to take creatine with a fruit juice or a sugar at all. You could take creatine at any time during the day if you want, there are just theorized benefits for taking it at certain times of the day.
