question about whey

what if i do my protein shake b4 work out and then drink it after workout ..mmmm. about 2 hrs later... 'll that change the protein nature???

Are you asking will it denature it?

What I would do is put some powder in a zip lock bag and put it in when you need it. Don't let it sit in a solution.

I live 5 mins from the gym so I don't worry about taking it with me.

That's what I do when I'm at school before I workout or before a football game.

i keep my protein in a shaker with no fluid in it while im in class..between classes i will fill it..shake it..chug..and go to my next class

Just shake it really well. If you do it for a while, it'll be like it was blended.

if its ON whey, that blends well with a spoon, but ive tried other proteins that just cant blend with a spoon, so you get those chunks at the top. my suggestion, buy a shaker and before you leave, put the protein in the shaker dry with no solution...fill it when u need, shake, and chug...rinse it out and dry it, refill it back up with the protein you put in the ziplock bag, with no solution....fill it before you drink, shake, and chug again...

but another question.. is it better to have whey with water post workout than milk ?cause of casien in milk which is low digesting .. and after workout u need the protein 2 get 2 the muscle quickly!!!!

i like your question, it is a good one. IMO milk pwo as long as it is SKIM (no way in hell you want whole), is alright. heres why, your still getting the same amount of whey protein and that will digest normally. the casein in the milk will digest more slowly, but i dont think it should have an effect on the digesting time of the whey. i could be wrong but that is my opinion.

I agree... i've always mixed ON whey with skim milk and it's working out pretty well. In reference to the previous question, I definitely wouldn't mix pre workout then drink 2 hours later. (I'm assuming you're talking about water here, not milk...). I've mixed up water with ON even a few times when I was out of milk and let it sit while I took a quick shower even, and by the time I got around to drinking it, it was clumping up a bit and generally didn't go down as well. If you don't have a way to mix post workout I'd go the route mentioned earlier... whey in a bag with a shaker cup. You'll have to shake the hell out of it to get the same effect as blending but it works.
