Most multi-vits and vitamin supplements will discolor your urine.
I've been told, (by people in the medical profession) that if you're eating a balanced diet, you're going to litterally 'piss away your money' when it comes to vitamin supplementation. Their contention, is that you get all the vitamins and minerals you need from your diet, so anything additional that you pay for - you don't need.
The fact that we eat differently than mainstream, doesn't render it inapplicable. As long as you are getting in fruits, vegetables (epecially the fibrous and colorful ones) in the appropriate volume relative to your daily calories, you should be okay. I still take a multi - sort of as an insurance policy. (I won't miss my protein, but I have missed my veggies.)
That being said, other than mega-high doses of Niacin (one of the B vitamins - search for NIACIN to read about the horrible reaction I had to it), the only real concern with vitamins, is fat-soluble vitamins. The water soluble vitamins, you can clear with additional water. The fat-soluble vitamins, however, can build up in your system until they actually become toxic to your system. They don't clear the system the way the water soluble ones do.
I think that it is safe to say, that any vitamin supplement that you're buying on the open market, are not going to have excessive quantities of harmful
substances, or it would be pulled, and others would have suffered some symptoms, unless it's a brand new product.
