I just want to rant cause I'm bored. I was waiting at my barber today for a hair cut and while I was waiting I decided to walk next door to GNC. Well I have not been to a GNC in about 3 years. GOD DAMN I forgot how big of a rip off they are!!! $98.99 for a 10 lbs bag of ON gold!!! and the only thing they really had in there was muscletech, xyience, BSN, muscle milk, and their house brand. With all the online supplement stores available to the public. How has GNC stayed in business? I mean **** their prices are almost 100% higher then prices online!! WHO THE HELL ACTUALLY GOES TO GNC?

If there are loyal GNC customers out there please tell me why you go there. Im not talking **** to you I just dont understand why people shop there.

Yeah, even if I go to the GNC on base (lots of military bases have them) and get the discount, plus my gold card (for a total of 35% off) it's still cheaper to go online.

I go to gnc during gold card week mostly to buy gnc brand protein. Their protein is cheap but good, and they do buy one get one half off. So that plus the gold card discount is the only reason I hit up gnc once a month.

The honest reason why its still in business is a combination of two things. Idiots who buy overpriced stuff. But I think a majority of their stuff comes straight from vitamin sales and general stuff like that.

^^^yeah not to mention there own line. For them I am sure it only cost 3 dollars per bottle of creatine mono and they sell it for like 12 dollars. Even if some of there products are half off there still making a killing. Not to mention there vitamins and herbs. It costs them pennys to mass produce.

Yup, economies of scale. Here in VA, there's a GNC right next to Gold's Gym. The clientele they serve is the type of guy who believes whole-heartedly in Muscle Tech magazine ads. The only time I shop there is if I'm low on whey, and waiting for a shipment. But they do have clearance sales from time to time. And they are cheaper than anything online, when considering shipping. But 99.9% of the time, you'll get beat when shopping at GNC. That BOGO is basically bull****, cause you're paying too much to begin with.

GNC products aren't THAT bad. The creatine at least, the only complaint that people have with it that i've talked to is the grittyness. And its cheaper than some of the other brand names out there.

Swellin Up here in Virginia are you from? I was in Virginia Beach for 4 years in the military. Actually I know that sales tax there is pretty cheap I think 4% but If you buy online you save money and I ddnt know if you noticed but next time I am 90% sure that there eill not be any sales tax charged to your online order. That should make up for some in not all of the shipping and most places can almost get you nextd day now. Just something I wanted to throw out.

Yeah, I order almost exclusively online. I like Nutraplanet, and a couple of other sites, and I get my stuff in a couple of days. The shipping is what really makes a difference to me, if I can buy locally for a few dollars more, I'll save especially when shipping is $8. But I always do my homework, and I place bulk orders.

I'm from No. VA, by the way. DC Metro area.
