Is it better to have supplements like Muscle Milk or ON Casin protein or go all natural with foods like cottage cheese, penaut butter. Would you go with Muscle milk? Or OPTIMUM? Or natural foods

ON Casein. bottom line.

especially if your on a diet, the fat in cottage cheese before bed time is not a positive impact on your physique.

i heard conflicting reports that casein [which i take right befor bed], only keeps you primed for about an hour, and then it's almost out of your system (although that's still better than whey, which is 30 minutes). the guy who wrote tihs article, it was in flex, said that you gotta wake up in the midle of the night for whey/casein shake as well.

im' a bit skeptical, but i'm gunna do it till someone tells me different. hit me with ur knowledge boys

i have heard pros and cons about waking up in the middle of the night to eat. It is keeping you anabolic However it is doing this at the cost of sleep. Especially if you are waking up during your REM cycles then it is inhibiting your recovery, hgh production along with other hormones that are mainly produced during sleep. What I do personally is I keep a glass of water on my night stand and a serving of BCAA's pills so if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night i just roll over take the pills then go right back to sleep. I dont even have to leave my bed........

the bcaas will keep you anabolic, but if you have no protein/ food etc. left in your system will it matter?

i like ur idea, just curious on it's effectiveness but if it works, i'm gunna do it too.

yeah it would be BETTER if you had food in your stomach, but personally my rest is to important to me to get up and eat in the middle of the night. The BCAA's help keep you anabolic through the night. And to be honest unless you are ****ING HUGE and you daily caloric intake is through the roof I personally dont think it will make a difference if you eat in the middle of the night or not. Your rest is very important especially if you are like me and have trouble falling asleep......

Don't wake up to take anything but like Cook said if you happen to wake up have something ready.

Time to digest:

Whey: 2 hours
Casein: 5-7 hours
Egg: 3 hours
Soy: 5 hours

I have no idea??? I just stick to the pills by my bed. I take bcaa amino drinks at other time. But i like to have stuff in pill form because I am not home alot on the weekends and pills are more conveinent when I'm not at home.

^ couldn't hurt to try that, although i think their is enough aminos in it to put you in anabolic because i'm pretty sure the label says something like anti-catabolic?
