supplements are great they are cool and all that is fine.but all that is fine for the people living in the US of A. let me just clarify , in india a 10lb whey protein from ON costs RS 4400
where the average salary of a man would be about RS 20,000.just imagine that is almost 1/5th of his income.BSN no-xplod costs RS3000.so supplements are not really a mainstream option in many parts of the world.

here is my problem, i have been gymming for 2.5 years now, my age is 22,i am a ectomorph, my weight is now 160 pound, with about 18% -20% body fat.i have been stuck in a plateau for about 6 months now and no matter what intensity techniques i use i makes no significant diffference.i take cellmass and whey protein.and sometimes creatine.
can ne1 suggest some means for me to get thru this plateau without selling my house to buy supplements.
i eat heavy....8 egg whites a day,chicken 4 times a week ,milk evryday etc....but doesnt help.

ne1 cares to solve?

this makes me wonder how arnold in the 1970's built that body at a time when there was no whey protein, or glutamine or NO etc.

Post your entire diet and training in detail and we will evaluate it for you.

You don't need whey, creatine, or nitric oxide to build Arnie's phsyique you need diet, training, and a little as and genetics probably helps too.

Not really a mystery. He had perfect genetics for bodybuilding and the steroids helped as well.
Supplements are a waste of money.

Supplements aren't a waste of money at all. There are certain supplements that aren't neccesary to have, and some that are just out as the next big fad for money gain.

As long as you pick the right ones they can be very useful. They aren't neccesary to use, but they help bring a body to the next level.

dungeon_keeper, before you post your training and diet I have something to suggest and ask. Do you have a tub of creatine? Creatine isn't something you use every so often, you have to use it on a daily basis to get your muscles saturated with creatine before its of any real use.

To say supplements are a waste of money is kind of a personal opinion. Some people get by on diet and training alone others may need more protein from an outside source, some people produce obscene amounts of testosterone naturally while others have to turn to steroids. If supplements are too expensive to buy in your area then you should buy them through Body Building Dungeon or other sources over the internet and just have them shipped to your house.

Good point Sparky but the shipping probably kills the deal for him. I am not sure how much the shipping it but it probably isn't cheap. Hopefully he can let us know.

i could almost agree with all of u. but some supplements are wicked.

anywho i couldn't believe this when i heard from a friend, but i know someone that actually tried it n it did work so.......
dungeon keeper if u want to crash gain weight quick, drink 200g sour cream n mix it with 300ml of beer or guiness once a day for a month n it will fatten u up a bit...it's how alot of natural bodybuilders in russia used to pack on weight during a bulk season. worth a try...

man there are a number of questions out here to be answered.
see first please leta talk about basic supplements, stuff which is not fancy but works good.
then lets talk if buying the components is cheaper than buying the finished product.ex(aakg+cituline+creatine is cheaper than no-xplod)
shipping is absuloutely not a option it more than doubles the cost of the supplements. and yes i will travel out of inda soon and settle in the US of A exclusively to follow my bodybuilding.
people telss talk of natural foods with high protein content and high glycemic index.

You want low glycemic (gi) index for most of the day.

You want high gi after you wake up and post work out otherwise low-med gi.

Low Gi= Wheat bread, old fashioned or rolled oatmeal (not the instant kind), Yams.

High GI= Sugar, Certain natural fruit juices, white bread, white potatoes, white rice.

You don't nessecarilly need to buy supplements, you can get just about everything through eating full meals. That includes vegetables and fruits through out the day along with your carbs, good fats and protein.

so High GI's affect ur blood glucose (sugar) faster then the low GI's??
and that is the reason why I feel so much more energitic when i eat a slice of bread with strawberryjam on a seldom time?

Correct the higher GI# the faster it raises your blood sugar. You want to stay away from white bread and jam for that matter. Combining foods offsets the GI rating.

An apple has a GI of 40 and contains 15 grams of carbohydrate per serving. Its glycemic load is (40 x 15) ÷ 100 = 6.

A potato has a GI of 90 and 20 grams of carbohydrate per serving. It has a glycemic load of (90 x 20) ÷ 100 = 18.

and apple contains fructose and therefore have low GI. A potato is polysaccharid and is High GI. but where did u find out what the GI's were, like apple=40??
