I am currently trying to loose some excess weight. Wanna get buff for the summer. At the moment I sort of resemble Phil Pfister but a little shorter. I train like an animal and eat well but enjoy the bad stuff too much (booze an Burgers)

I have recently bought an exercise bike for morning cardio.

I have always used Whey Protein and a multi vitamin in my diet.

I was going to add Glutamine and Lipo 6 fat burner to the mix as well.

Any thoughts and or advise would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys

no beer and no ff or bun or cola with the burger...40-50 g protein every 3 hrs..1 sprig of broccoli per day...no dairy products....2 weeks of this ur body will switch from burning sugar(carbs/lycogen) to burning fat as in body fat..you will lose 5lb per week..once u lose all the weight u can eat salad, nuts, whole wheat products and beans..no beer and no ff ever..and no pizza, bagels, pasta or cookies..

Huh?

1. Your body never "switches". The ratios's at which your body utilizes macro's only change.

2. Its ALWAYS dependent on calories which you've never mentioned.

3. 5lbs a week is ridiculous unless you want to lose massive amounts of muscle.

4. You can lose all the weight in the world eating whole grinas, nuts, and many other low-mod GIO sources.

This whole idea you need to just cut carbs is ludicrous.

First and foremost is the guy needs to post his diet and how many calories he is consuming.

Supplement means jack **** without having that.

I think what he's getting at is when you don't have as many carbs your body goes into ketosis. Which in itself isn't good for long term dieting.

actuaslly ketosis is very healthy tho many people find it hard to stay on this diet..in ketosis your bad cholesterol goes down..ur good cholesterol goes up and if u have high blod pressure it will go down..after the desired amt of weight is lost u switch to a South Beach diet which is protein salads, veggies, whole grains, nuts, legums and fruits.Very healthy eating with low bf is the result..lol

Obviously you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Maybe instead of reading commercial books you could actually get in the classroom and learn some basics.

EVERY diet is based on the laws of thermodynamics. Energy in = energy out and you need to adjust accordingly.

I guess I'll throw out the 500+ people I've trained, several competitive bb'ers over the last couple years.

Get a clue.

Bull****. It has everything to do with the choice of fats rather than the shift in your metabolism (which ketosis is). Eat a high fat diet that contains a lot of saturated and transfatty acids while still eating low carbs and the health benefits go out the window.

Why don't you get a clue before you post because obvisouly you just repeat what these companies market.

No its not. I wish some of you people would actually learn some basics in nutrition before listening to complete morons like this rkl guy.

Long term ketosis is NOT good which is why you have seen such a major shift in the past couple years of these so called low carb experts introduce low-mod GI carbs back into the diets several weeks in.

Telling someone that wants to lose weight to just drop carbs is an idiot and has no basis for giving any recommendations. He needs to shut up.
