This is my first post here and I'm fairly new to bodybuilding. I believe in researching everything I do before I do it so that is why I'm asking this question. I wanted to know your opinion on DHEA. I used the search feature and read many things, but most were just "yea I like it" and some just say "you don't need it." I don't want to take any kind of steroids, but these are over-the-counter which I don't consider as bad. I currently intake a great amount of protein and am on pure creatine mono.

Still just wanted to know your thoughts on DHEA. I'm 21 yrs old btw. I know it is more effective for 40+ males. Thank you and I enjoy all the reading so far and the things I've learned on these boards.

Hey thanx for the read. I'm still skeptical though. I've also read other articles that put it down, claiming that it won't even have an effect on anyone below the age of like 30.

Hey man, thanx for the compliment on my avatar. It's me. I just started lifting two months ago and I'm only 5' 6" 130lbs, but so far so good. And yes, I drink tons of water (at least 80-100oz/day). It's made me feel like a fountain.

If anybody else has any experience with DHEA please let me know. Thanks in advance.

i took dhea when i was 21, if i remember correctly i took 100mg perday? and i brokeout crazy!!! but i did get somewhat strong and gained like 7 pounds i remember in a month. and i stopped using them because of acne... and never touched it since! how about some creatine? and muscle milk? u'll probably gain 10pounds easily within the first month!

I actually have been taking creatine mono for two months now. I started taking it right when I started lifting so to tell what gains are from it is difficult. I haven't tried muscle milk, but just this past week now I've upped my diet so hopefully I'll throw on some more pounds that are mostly muscle. But like everything, I'm expecting it to take time.

As for the acne, how long did it take for it to clear up once you stopped taking the DHEA? Also, I was planning on taking 25mg in the morning and at night. I wonder if the acne effect would be as dramatic. Thanx for the info.

acne lasted about 3months and scars stayed... i think everybodys different but im pretty sure your gonna get some... just how much is i don't know.. i know proactive will help for sure!
