I've seen many articles stating why multi's for men should not contain iron b/c it is bad for your health medium to long terms (Depending on the intake quantity); some others state that iron is needed b/c of nutrient depletion while exercising and how iron works as a transporter for some other minerals.

Any comment is greatly welcomed.
Thanks guys

u need iron.
if there are any negative effects with taking iron then they are being heavily overridden by the positives. its pretty hard to avoid not taking iron.

I missed to add that in accordance to certain articles; you get sufficient iron from food; so getting an overload is dangerous for the body.

Unless you're Anemic, don't take an Iron supplement. Iron helps build red blood cells (Hemoglobin), which is what transports all the good stuff through your blood stream.
I once had Anemia, so I know all too well about Iron supplementation.

WARNING: Iron supplements will make your stool like thick, black peanut butter.

That being said, you can get ample amounts from red meat, which is much easier to digest and tastes better!

You are right on Kommando. You can die from excessive iron supplementation.

Iron is normally regulated by the gastrointestinal mucosa but when there is an overdose this mucosa is damaged which as a result leads to increased absorption. This increased absorption effects serum levels and results in metabolic acidosis and impairs mitochondrial function which results in cell death.

Mostly kids die from iron toxicity, usually because they think it's candy.

Especially if you eat a lot of red meat, you should try to get a multi without iron because it can accumulate in the system over time and pose serious health risks.
