I'm the exact opposite. Those protein bars gum up my whole digestive track.
The other nasty thing about the protein bars that I've tried, is that they're usually in the 300 calorie range, to get 28 g of protein. For WPI protein powder, figure less than 100 calories for 28g of protein. Also WPI powder goes for around $0.50 per serving. A lot of those protein bars are up over $2 for the same amount of protein.
You definitely need to try different flavors. They range from fantastic to just plain awful. There's nothing worse than getting stuck with a tub of WPI that you hate. Get some sample packs of the protein, to try out the taste, before you go and buy a big tub. Also, you'll want to rotate between 2 or 3 different flavors, so you don't get sick of the taste.
