Creatine actually doens't even need a very large insnulin spike post workout since glut4 levels are increased by a very large margin. CEE needs even less. 50-80g of simple carbs is definetly not wise IMO unless you serisouly want to increase adipose storage.

Hey guys!

Ive been taking creatine for about 3 weeks now, I felt really bloated during the loading phase. I have no obvious strength gains to shout about, but after 90 minutes in the gym I fell like ive only been there 20, so definitley more energy.

Lithium has hit the nail on the head for me, im a little confused about my carb intake whilst im on creatine. My stomach has swollen so much I cant use my belt anymore, ive gone from my always 31" waist to 34-35".

What do you reckon I need to be doing?

Thanks, Dib.

Just read this whole thing & now I feel like an idiot. This is the first chat site I've ever been on & had no idea I could search threads. Posted a creatine thread yesterday, and could've saved time by simply searching creatine. Exellent stuff here. Been cycling creatine for about 10 years, 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off. 5mg/day, no loading phase. Guys were asking for examples of creatine performance: During off cycle I have a one rep max full sqaut I maintain. During on cycle I can do 4 reps with that same weight in the full sqaut by the 3rd week into the cycle. As a 45 year old guy with over 10 years of creatine supplementation I've always wondered why people regularly guess me in my mid-30s. The material in the 1st post sums it up with the anti aging properties. Only thing I notice is blood pressure goes up during on cycle.

Has anyone ever used Micronized Mono? It's not that much more than regular creatine but is not supposed to cause bloating.

I'm not too sure where to post this, but I'll just put it here since it's somewhat Creatine-related.

I just have a question. I'm 16 and I've never seriously weight lifted in my life [I lifted lightly 3 times a week over the summer, but that's it], where should I start? Do you think it would be appropriate to start with creatine, or just start taking in some protein shakes every day?

My schedule is pretty damn packed, and I'm not sure I'll be able to work out more than 3-4 times a week. Is this good / bad? What suggestions do you guys have for a first-time lifter? I obviously don't plan on being a competing lifter, I just want to gain about 20 pounds of body weight over the next year or so. Is this an unrealistic goal [too small, too large?] ANY help will be appreciated!

in the article it says to use up to 40grams of creatine a week in week 4 and 5. i thought 5 or 10 grams was plenty of creatine. is it safe to take in that much?

If you're on the loading phase then that is fine, yes. Otherwise if you're on maintenance, you should be taking a 5g minimum daily.

The honest truth about creatine....

About 18% of men and less thatn 5% of women react to creatine...if you are one of the lucky ones...take it now and take it forever. If you are not, don't waste your money.

How does one tell if it works? Take it as directed for one month...stop...if you don't gain 2-5% in weight within the first 7 - 10 days, and lose that within the first 5 days after stopping...it does not work for you...stop taking it and save your $$

If it works for you...CONGRATS!!!

Honestly hearing this, I really feel like I couldn't agree more. I've seriously never noticed a difference while being on creatine and not. I've heard of people gaining about 5lbs or so when getting on creatine after they've been off, some of it water weight, but I just have never noticed a difference in my lifts/recovery/etc. from being on or off creatine. I've always just felt it more so as a mental thing. I'd love to see some write ups in journals or something about this if you do know where I could find some, I'd appreciate it.
