Hmmm....I have a degree in Physio Science and Exercise Phys and haven't heard of the term "fat symbols". I think I kinda understand where the teacher was headed but he strayed from that path before finishing his sentence.

She might be referring to trans fatty acids.. It is the only thing I can think of that somewhat relates but it still does not make sense.

Every PE teacher I've ever had has been overweight and out of shape, which always made me laugh because of the irony.

Thats all I have to add. Carry on.

Your esteemed collegues are following that old adage "If you can't do, teach."

Yep most teachers are not the most intelligent or well researched people, but then again they are just average people, and average people are ****ing idiots. THe average person in western society does not a have vocabulary, nor mathematical understanding, beyond a 12yr old level (grade level of that age in whatever country). Thats what level news and TV are aimed at, so everyone can understand. So I ask, what have they been doing with the rest of their lives?

Don't be average! Do your own research, find out "facts" and the "truth" for yourself. Most of all keep an open and cynical/critical mind (seems like an oxymoron, but it isn't).
