Would it be okay to eat salad (with no meat, no chicken) before a workout with a protein shake? By me meaning okay is, is it still helpful/good to eat salad for the meal about 30 minutes before my workout. And I drink the protein shake about 5 minutes before a workout.
Or would it be better off eating chicken with rice? Or carbs? for a pre-workout meal

but i also carbs right after a workout (pasta).
whats best ? thankss

Post work out should consist of a good shake and maybe some BCAA's before and after training. Then about 45 minutes to a hour after your PWO shake, your meal should consist of carbs and a solid protien source such as chicken breast, steak, or any other clean meat.

Like what Palmetto said "carbs = energy"
Get in a good amount of carbs before your workout, but wait atleast 1 hour before training after you have eaten, Also don't drink a protein shake before a workout, that would be a waste. drink your protein shake after your workout, then wait 45 minutes to an hour like what Palmetto said again as your muscles would be trying to repair them self after a good training session

BCAA's are branch chain amino acids...they are pretty much the same thing as protien. They kind of carry the protien to the cell. I can't really explain it. Do a search on them, but if you want to get some BCAA's in with your PWO shake, get some ON'S protien shake. BCAA's are included in the shake. Just do a BCAA search.

i like eating lean steak before training, because the red meat is higher in fat then chicken and it gives you more energy.. and that helps raise your Test levels

hahahaahha !!!! salad of course dude .. it is salad... lmao .. have a protein shake just before and after your workout..... but dont have sugar before your workout... have sugar after your workout ... if you have chicken it will take longer to digest .. if you have a protein shake say with water it will digest alot faster then chicken... good luck.
