Body Fat Tester (What a Joke)

So my girlfriend (just trying to be nice I assume) brings me home one of those electro-pulse bodyfat testers she got from Target. I knew right off the bat that I would be returning it, but I was polite and thanked her for the gift. So I set the thing up for me and her. I go first. This piece of shit tells me I'm 30.8% bodyfat. Well needless to say I'm nowhere near that since I have veins popping out of my stomach, but I got a laugh out of it. Now it's her turn. Keep in mind she is 7 months pregnant and not looking real fit at the present time. Her reading was 10.7 %. Well, she was happy and wanted to keep the thing but I finally talked her into giving me the reciept. I take it back and the fat-ass at the return desk asks whats wrong with it. I tell her it dosen't work and that it had told me I'm 30% BF. This idiot looks at me and says "well, you'd be surprised. LOLOLOLOLO. I kept my comments to myself and got my money (her money) back.

Thinking back on it, that was pretty rude of her. I should have said something but I try not to let shit like that bother me. I mean this harlot was like 35 years old, 5'2" and weighed at least two bills. She was probably thinking "Hey since his fat pregnant girl tested so low, maybe I need one of these devices for myself". That way she can sit around a load her hole with cheezy poofs and ding dongs and stay around 10 percent. My question is how the hell can they sell these things? On top of all of it the package says "accurate to .001%"!? WTF???

As far as I know all of the "electro pulse" ones are shit. The scales that cost over a hunderd bux are shit to. Better off with calipers. Water displacement is obviously the best.

Accuracy and precision are two different things. What it is talking about is precision not accuracy (it will give you the same reading regularly, accuracy will give you the actual value).

I've got one of those scales, but couldn't get a refund because I bought it off ebay. I was unimpressed when I step on and get a reading of 22% BF when I'm 10% less than that! I really wonder what they are measuring.
