Okay, I was going to get my father set up with a strict diet this coming up summer but there is a problem. He tells me he doesn't eat ANY meat. So I said "well, then we don't have many options for protein, I mean there's whey protein, eggs......" then he interupts "actually, I don't eat eggs either." I asked him what he plans on eating for protein and he replies with "whey protein, nuts, and dairy" I shook my head in shame.

What should I do gentlemen?

Man, thats a tough one I suggest showing him great ways to cook meats etc. so he can enjoy the meats. If he is a vegetarian then this process will have no effect, you could find some information on the benefits of eating meat e.g. iron etc. Explain the importance of protein in a weight-loss program(I assume this is the purpose surround your father's diet)

If all this fails and no commonsense prevails attempt to introduce fish into the weight-loss program. Fish can be a very versatile method of including proteins int the diet as there are a wide array of fishes on the market which can be prepared in a myriad of ways.

Good Luck!

Beans and rice can be complementary proteins. Look up the amino acid profiles of different foods and have him eat those to get a full array of amino acids. Variety of nuts, beans, whole grain rice, and milk with vitamin D added. As you know he is missing out especially by not eating eggs. You could always buy some egg protein powder and take the label off and just tell him you had some leftover protein.

I just want to add that he isn't in bad shape. He has a small gut, but my main focus was getting him very lean. I'll see what I can do.

hey flex im sure their are a lot of books out their on vegetarian diets. We both know your body will make what it needs when given the basic as far as anmino acids go. try n convince him to try meat at least once a day tho bro. Your body really need protein to not feel weak u know what i mean?

Ok and BTW Ronnie rockel looks like a freak in your avatar bro, hes gonna make a huge impact bro, hes huge proportionate, and doesnt have any weakness that ive seen,

ok back on topic, try n look for books at uh your local book store i guess on dioet bro, and they will most likely have one with recepies that will help aid in a full amino acid profileing for a healthier diet for your dad.

Edit on another note if hes not eating meat based on ot trying to not get fat i strongly suggest the nook, The Formula 40-30-30 a personalized guide to weightloss. This is the healthies diet anyone can eat, keep insulin levels nomal no spikes or anything, and theirs tons of recipies in the book.

Godbless
