(please correct me if I'm wrong). No doubt for the same reason some people are genetically more inclined to putting on muscle mass, so they may be more inclined to be able to process more protein at one time. I was using the 40g as an average - the same as we say 1 1/2g protein per lb bodyweight as an average! |
Protein can get stored as fat. Although it's not made for that purpuse and has to undergo some transformations in the body which takes energy to be stored, so it doesn't get you as fat as extra carbs would and it's unlikely for bodybuilders to actully have and abundance in protein.
It's not simply a matter of meals, otherwise you could eat 200 meals and get infi protein! It's about how much in how big of a time span your body can absorb, and the meals are already divided, thus deviding it in more meals isn't really gonna help. But your right, the protein need might be exxagerated and the number of absorbtion underrated at the same time. I'm intrested to see what science has to say about this in 10 years.
EDIT: yes I see the edit button, I gues you can only edit a short time after the post?
Anyway Rocky, CWUT said once that 40 gram whey and 30 gram casseine was max to be absorbed at one time, so your impression was absolutly right, and although I'm a real science geek, like i said, one or both of the currents claims must be of or Ronnie wouldn't exsist!
