When you figure your "grams per pound" to get a protien or carb count do you use your "total" bodyweight or your "lean" body weight? ie...subtract your body fat %....total weight = 250,body fat is 15% so you would use 212 as your "per pound" number?

That reads kinda funny but I think you know what I mean.I want to get 2 grams of protein per pound...do I use my total body weight or minus the body fat?

Thanks.

doesnt matter really, i find it hard to believe there's an established mathematical formula to determine the exact correct amount of macronutrients to eat each day. But personally i like to get around 300-400 grams of protein per day, and carbs are a ton when bulking, not so much but still some with each meal when cutting.

Protein intake won't matter, just use total weight. For carbs there really isn't a certain amount per pound per day; it's just how your are training and your goals. Once you have those set, adjust accordingly.

A 6 oz chicken breast has about 40 grams of protein, if i eat 2 a meal, thats about 80 grams. If you wanna check out my diet, i posted a sample daily bulking diet in my excuse for a journal in the training log's section.
