How to quit steroids and what are the effects of quitting?

A friend of mine has a son who is in 9th grade and she has recently found that he is using steroids. He is extremely aggressive and depressed. What is the safest way to get him to stop using? What are the side effects to expect when coming off of them? Is it possible to help him quit at home, or should you use other sources?
He has attacked his father and broken the fathers leg during the attack. He has also threatened his siblings! Please help with any ideas or previous experience!

sounds like he needs professional help for his anger issues. he needs to completely stop the steroids and get on a post cycle protocol immediately, following some blood tests as well.

If it was my son i would try and find someone who actually knows about steroids (not a gym teacher a expert) and have them have a sit down talk with him about the dangers of using as a teenager.

Endocrinologist is the way to go

And a psychiatrist. I doubt the steroids would cause that much out of that little hellion.... no offense.

These guys all KNOW what they're talking about for sure.

I agree with Zack, the child has anger issues that are more related to his temperment, not so much the steroid use. That kind of attitude will not be fixed by coming off of it. But nonethless, he most definitely NEEDS to come off of it!

I'll bet ya the kid was probably on an antidepressant prior to his use.

Testosterone causes aggression and aggression causes testosterone so good luck correlating the two

Preexisting condition that needs serious treatment but no he should not be on anything to lend to his prior behaviors.
