The vascularity would come from the extra RBCs, they have to go some where so into the veins they go. And with more of them they will need more space, thus the extra vascularity.
And the thing about the question of blood clots due to the extra RBCs. When extra RBCs are produced in the body, it will usually create extra WBCs and platelets. Platelets are what cause clotting.
Some people create excess RBCs on their own and it is called, Polycythemia vera or Polycthemia or PV.
The reason for the cause of concern is that the excess RBC make the blood thicker thus it will flow slower specially through the smaller blood vessels, increasing the risk of clots. Also the thicker the blood is and the slower it flows the muscle, organs and tissue will not get oxygen as rapidly as they require. |
