Though this article isnt specifically regarding steroids, it might have something to do with them in terms of treatment.

My mum is 54 years old, she has panic attacks/agoraphobia (fear of leaving the home) since 1997. She has low estrogen levels and almost non existent progesterone levels. Doctors put her on cliogest... other than that they dont know shit! They haven't helped her in any way. Her cortisol levels last time were tested as really low the time before that they were really high.

Shes been house bound these past 5-10 years. Shes overweight/obese, always tired or sleeping, seems to have split personalities though they are only slightly noticeable. She only eats once a day sometimes doesn't eat for days! she says shes not hungry. Her quality of life is diminished.

I ask the fellow dungeon members who have knowledge in this area to help me out, id like to get my mum back to normal somehow, out of the house, going out, living life. Its very depressing for me as well but i want to fix this.

Ok.. Her diet is a little fucked up bro.
Get her eating right meals. She needs to get her levels up again, her energy etc.
1 meal a day is shit.

She also needs to be assured that it's ok to go outside.
Talk with her, try and persuade her into going for a walk outside.

Then Exercise is another factor that will change her state of mind.
Confidence will grow, n she will overcome her fears a lot easier.

Find out what she enjoys and use that to help her overcome her fears.

Docs can't do shit these days, it's family that is a great help.

I've trained a few clients like this before.

I agree with Mr. Weapon. Can she walk or is she bed-bound? If she is restricted to her bed is this because of being obese or from another disability?

She needs a steady stream of nutrients and glucose primarly. She is retaining all of that fat because she is only eating once per day. Her body does not know when it will get fed again so it retains all of that fat. She basically needs to get on bb diet with less calories. I would have her see a dietitian or a dietitian see her, whatever as long as a professional can assess her dietary needs and help her. This might have to do with her self image too, and not wanting to go outside. Find simple things she enjoys and do that with her. Hope this helps!

She is 54. THat would explain the low estrogen levels. TRibulus is medically proven to aid in lessening and in some cases reversing the effects of menopause. One major effect of monopause is low estrogen.

Yes we recently went to see a dietician and she recommended we try an elimination diet to eliminate foods that might be causing her problems.

Shes also lactose intolerant she doesn't drink milk, yogurt etc. She hates eating sweet things, she likes eating only meats and salads, breads, vegetables and occasionally rice or pasta. Extremely picky about what she wants to eat but shes always been like that... just info that might help you guys understand the situation better

Make sure the bread is whole grain and rice is brown. Work on portion control and keep a food journal. She probably eats more than either one of you realize. Don't turn so quickly to prescriptions. Depression itself can cause insomnia, waking up at night, which can then result in EDS (Excessive Daytime Sleepiness). Have her follow a solid diet for awhile and take some melatonin about 30mins before bed.

Thanks Freak. Yer shes been pretty ill this past month or so. Last week and this week shes had low blood pressure at about 80/50 and 80/40... and shes been vomiting as well.

I think she needs to take in depth blood tests to determine whats happening in her body because this is really screwed up. I was even thinking of taking her to the ER one night when it was really bad... but then what the hell are they going to do besides make her wait for 6 hours, see a doctor for 5 min and send her home.

I'm certain their are some huge hormonal imbalances in her body causing all this.

If that is still happening I would take her to the Dr. immediately.

You will probably have to be stern with her and just do it.

Sometimes older people don't want to go to the hospital for a variety of reasons but once they go and get treated they will be happy and appreciate you helped them and saved their life. Hope she gets well soon!

Or they will admit her, run tests and determine what's wrong and help her..

Yeah they aren't going to send her home vomiting, with that low of blood pressure and narrow pulse pressure.
