Opening these has never been an issue for me until now. All of a sudden the little bitches are shattering (literally) in my hand when i attempt opening them...and they cut pretty bad. Maybe my amp opener is getting worn out and not scoring the glass as well.....anyone have any pointers or personal techniques that might help me out so i stop wasting my gear....

I use a bic pen top and often score them a bit with a knife 1st.

Opening ampules can definitely be tricky. I used a small metal file to score around the neck. A nail file will work too. I think the trick is to hold the base with just enough pressure to snap the top off. Too much pressure on the base will shatter the amp. Sounds simple but sometimes they can be a pain!

I agree with scoring it with a knife or nail file, also hold the top and bottom with either a piece of gauze or an unopened alcohol swab, usually doesn't shatter and if it does it doesn't cut you.
