I was given an assignment for sociology on why I'd approve of using steroids. I haven't experimented with it, or know someone who has. I was wondering if you guys could list your reasons (with explanations) on why you approve of using steroids. I've written the report as best I could, but I could use tons more help. This will make my work a little bit easier, and I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for any responses.

because, done properly and safely, they pose little to no risk to health (well, there is some risk but if you're being monitored and not an idiot, it's almost negligible) and can help to meet one's strength and fitness goals. provided I don't cost the healthcare system money with my decision, no one has the right to tell me what I can and can't do with/to my body.

damn man, you could write a 20 page paper on why you would approve of them. There's so much invovled...mindstar pretty much said the jist of it but with the little bit mindstar said you can elaborate that to about 4 or 5 pages.

interesting take for a sociology paper, I have an MA in sociology and would think a more sociological take on the subject might be to investigate a community and their norms (ie ours...) rather than a personal opinion piece. if you want some advice, i can try and help if you want...

if its an introductory sociology course, the instructor is probably trying to get the students to recognize that most of ideas about how people 'naturally' act are cultural constructs and not innate.
Most of the stories in the media around steroids aren't about recreational users, but about how its immoral because it is 'cheating' in a particular sport, and therefore you're a bad person. If it was about health, smoking and alcohol would be illegal, as would McDonalds.

You could look at how they came about, just in the stickys here. A lot of them were developed as cancer drugs.
