Are you guys reading F18Jock's posts?? He has solid information. Should be end of story. I was in the Navy as well, I saw it happen for rec drugs. I got out before the steroid laws came into effect. Since those laws are from an act of Congress which checks the Executive Branch of the Government (Secretary of Defense anyone?) ALL branches of the military fall under the same probabilities of getting caught.

F18 has been in the testing position and posted the guidelines issued for the Navy/Marines the other branches are not going to fall much different cause ultimately the chain of command goes back to a single person, The President of the United States.

If you are in the military, be careful what you do....

I think the steroid laws are BS as much as anyone here, but there is an oath sworn. Your word should mean something.

When I was in the Corps back a few years ago my lifting partner got nabbed. In the middle of PFT my partner is showing off doing dead hang pullups nice and slow (plus 5'5" & 220lbs). Base CO was walking out of the gym and watched him for a couple minutes then walked over and said he wanted him tested.

couple gym guys told him to pour bleach over his fingers and piss on his fingers for the test. Didn't work....everything showed up. But he lost a rank went back on the juice to win his first show. After he won the show they left him along after that.

I don't know the details of what they test for but I'm in the Air Force and know guys who do it and haven't been caught yet. The guys I know of who were busted were distributing, in addition to using. Still a bad idea. I think the zero tolerance policy applies to all illegal substances, so they could have legal cause to charge you criminally as well as non-judicially. I don't know the exact wording of the UCMJ, but as with anything in the military, they can always hit you with conduct unbecoming or discrediting the service depending on whether you're an O or an E.
