Lesnar's athleticism is very impressive, but he has less charisma than Jay Cutler(even though I'm a Jay fan, it's true.) He couldn't cut a promo to save his life, eg"I'm the fighting-est(?) champion ever!" When he's not talking, he's great; unfortunately, said interaction is essential to the business. His comparisons to Goldberg were well founded; both very explosive and spectacles to be sure, but are far outclassed by other athletes that are more the total package(NOT Lex Luger.....), such as Bret Hart, Sting, Triple H, and Rick Flair. It also doesn't help that they easily had one of the worst matches I've EVER SEEN at Wrestlemania 20, and having Stone Cold do the exact-same-thing he's always done only made the situation worse(shudder...). He (semi-legally)breached his contract to chase his NFL dreams(hence the strange no-wrestling lawsuit in the works); I feel his dedication to the business was shown with that short-sided decision, and it's definitely costing him. Whether he comes back or not, I believe he was and will continue to be just be another flash in the pan. |
