Batista not making it to Wrestlemania!

There has been no final decision, but the feeling right now is that due to injury, Batista will have no chance to be fully recovered in time for WrestleMania. The title will therefore have to change hands and plans are being discussed for the best way to do that.

If Batista is in able enough condition to work a short match tonight, they may change the title that way, simply strip him of the belt, some sort of tournament, or put it up in the Royal Rumble match with the stipulation that if a RAW guy wins it, he will have to move to SmackDown as Champion.

The final decision will be made clear at the taping's tonight, but it's not set in stone what will happen at this point.

Batista relinquishes World Heavyweight Championship
January 10, 2006

Tonight at the SmackDown television taping in Philadelphia, Batista’s torn right triceps forced him to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship over to General Manager Theodore Long.

Long immediately declared that there would be a Battle Royal tonight to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Stay tuned to WWE.com as we update you on the winner of the Battle Royal later tonight.

Edit. How I think it will go down. The last two in the ring will both eliminate each other with both feet touching the floor at exactly the same time leading to both of them facing each other in a 1 on 1 match at the rumble.

I think it was a brilliant idea. I love Angle and it's about time they put one of the belts on him. It also looks like they've dropped the idea of having Orton win the rumble.
