I am/was into mma more than just brazillian jiu jitsu but I studied it for a while also.Actually met hoyce (sp) Gracie several years ago in virginia at a meet.

I did a college course some years back. Then I started going to a local martial arts academy and did one night a week for a while. Membership got too small to keep the class going, so it shut down. Then I started going to a gym that teachers MMA. One night is boxing, one night is BJJ, one night is sparing. I just went to the BJJ night for training in that. None of these are the fancy name-brand BJJ gyms...they want more money than I've got.

Really, unless its a gracie owned and operated gym I dont think you want to pay too much. You're better off going to a gym that teaches bjj along with something else like you are.
