Fedor Emelianenko, Brett Rogers to square off in MMA fight - ESPN
Keys to Roger pulling off the win
1. Boxing, if he keeps it a tactical boxing match with Fedor then he will neutralize one of Fedors key factors in winning, the big hooks that lead to a KO. Rogers has the length and the height to fight smart if he wants to.
2. Flurry, Rogers is a big strong fighter that can land a KO hit, if they trade off he has a chance of winning.
3. Smother in the halfguard (Ala Randy Couture) then move on. Starting out in the halfguard will neutralize Fedors arm bar attempts because he has his leg pinned down. All though he does stand the chance to get hit with a kimura if he is sloppy.
Keys to Fedor pulling off the win
1. Getting the big shot off first, Rogers is a good striker as well and has a reach advantage.
2. Opportune takedowns, if he can get rogers down with a quick throw and make him work I think he'll tap the tank of Rogers.
3. Submission victory. I've never seen a sub attempt on Rogers and i'm going to assume Fedor's submissions are technically better than Rogers defense.
I'm really doubting this match ends in an arm bar for Fedor if he tries for one where Rogers can latch onto his own hand and either slam him or stack up on him and cause a lull in the fight to get reset.
