Story By: Ryan Gray
The following was written by Richard Gray:

We are now able to confirm that Bobby Lashley is gone from World Wrestling Entertainment. In a phone call placed to WrestlingNewsWorld.com's Ryan Gray, Lashley said that he is gone from the company. While he would not give any specifics he made it clear that he did not want to leave but had too due to circumstances beyond his control.

Lashley told WrestlingNewsWorld.com's Ryan Gray that he was training hard for a potential career in Mixed Martial Arts. The former ECW Champion said that despite the fact that he wanted to pursue an MMA career, it would not be with UFC.

Lashley would not comment on whether or not he would be interested in going to TNA Wrestling. He said that WWE has granted his release but it would not be announced until the paperwork was finalized.
Now that's shocking, I guess we saw Lashley for the last time. And Lashley going to MMA lol, everybody wants to do MMA this days lol. What you guys think about this news?..

Shamrock was a mma fighter first then wrestler. Lesnar has the amateur wrestling background which does help with takedowns and groundwork. From what I know Batista is just a bodybuilder. I don't know what lashley's background is but I can honestly tell you that no matter how big you are, TECHNIQUE overides STRENGTH. You can't be a MMA fighter overnight. You need to train in different disciplines.

iknow batsita would suck at mma but i just want to see him hit someone properly. Lashely was an ameture wrestler and won quite a few national titles and wrestled in the military aswell. Brute strenght cant win the titles but it can put on a good show, just look at bobb sapp and kimbo... shit technique but just brute force.

Bob Sapp uses his strength and size pretty well. He overwhelms his opponent using the bull rush technique but that has a downside to it. He engulfs you with punches as you try to make distance. Uses basically no submission techniques whatsoever. His weakness is his endurance. Once he gets tired he drops his guard and then allows him to get hit. Plus hes very marketable in Japan. Big Huge guy compared to normal japans but also a nice one.

I think Kimbo has a bright future even though he gets a bad rap as a street fighter. I believe he was trained by Bas Rutten and some UFC/Pride trainers to teach him submission techniques and to increase his stamina. He still needs to face someone with a brazilian jujitsu background before I can say hes ready for the big promotions. Facing an ex-boxer doesnt cut it.

Don't get me wrong I think Batista would probably beat up any normal drunk guy at the bar or any person with no formal training. Once he gets in a mma ring he can't rely on his strength and size if he gets taken down. Don't always believe the stereotype taht the bigger guy is the better fighter. They are merely giving the impression that they are more dangerous.

Most people don't realize the importance of conditioning and training. A two minute submission wrestling can be excrusciating. Hell i went 8 minutes in a bjj match and I couldn't lift up my arm for 2 hours because i used all my remaining strength to hold an arm triangle and keep it locked till i found the right position.

I'm glad Lashley is gone from WWE. He was a Brock Lesnar replacement. He even jumped up to the ring like Brock. Lashley has a real nice build but his in-ring work was average at best and his mic skills were horrible.

I'm surprised that Brock got 250k for his first fight... I know it comes down to how big a draw they are, that is why we still see Chris Leben fight but still 250k..

Was he supposed to make more or less? Obviously the wrestling fans would want to see if he was realistically as dominating in real fights as he was in pro wrestling.

Brock lesnar looked pretty good in my opinion. Im sure the wrestling peeps kept a close watch over the match because if brock lesnar lossed badly to a much smaller guy it pretty much changes the view of huge strong prowrestlers as we know it. (or in the view of the children that watch wwe programming.)

put it this way, lesnar was gauranteed 250k for his fight with a 200k win bonus, frank mir was gaurantted 40k for the fight and another 40k for a win. hmmmmm, someone really has to fill some BIG BIG shoes.

Also, I would love to see batista in a mma fight, and although he doesn't necessarily have a strucuted fighting background, batista did do some jail time because when he was a bouncer he nearly killed a guy from beating the hell out of him, the guy went into icu!
