Hey everyone,

Check out my brother (Chad's) mock draft:

NFL Answers - Chad Thompson's 2007 NFL Mock Draft April 15th

Last year was his first time submitting it and he was more accurate the Mel Kiper, Jay Glazer, and Scott Wright!

Being more accurate than mel kiper ain't that hard.....all you have to do is have 2 brains cells...that's double what he has lol.

your brother's draft looks pretty good, but this is year harder to predict with russel, johnson, and quinn. (i'm a raiders fan, i know). not bad though, i disagree with some of the top and bottom, but he's got the overall jist of it. good luck to him though, if it ends up like that i'd be happy, i just don't think it will. there will be trades and what not that no one can foresee.

Yeah that is how it is every year teams making moves and stuff nobody can predict.

Chad: I may change it up a little bit before the time comes to turn it into Huddle Report but I have had Calvin Johnson going to the Raiders since my first mock draft this year so I am going to stick to that belief. Obviously I know most of the reports are that JaMarcus Russell is going number one and that could happen I just know from past mock drafting that the obvious pick ends up being not so obvious on draft day which is what makes mocks so hard. I would be interested to know some of the specifics on what picks you disagreed with and maybe you could sway my opinion or I could at least let you know a little more on why I chose that certain prospect for that certain team.

I am not going to lie to you either, Mel Kiper really isn't very good at projecting the actual picks. I think he is great at evaluating the prospects just not projecting where they will end up, that is my strength. But I still beat a lot of other top draft analysts for instance a guy like Scott Wright who is very respectable to most draft fans.

One very important lesson in trying to get a high score on your mock draft is to put guys in the first round that you know belong there even if there isn't a team for them because you get a point for each correctly placed prospect in the first round. Also go out on a limb on some picks. No one is going to bash you for missing an unpredictable pick because it is just that, but if you end up being right and were one of the only ones to project that pick you'll come out looking like a genius.

Thanks for your comment,

Chad

Sure thing-

BTW, out of all the anaylsts, my personal favorite is Pat Kirwan. he does sirius nfl radio and writes a column for nfl.com. He's not a draft expert, that's not his strong point, but he knows everything else, especially the business end of the sport. very smart guy.

The first 5 picks are going to be almost impossible to call IMO, but if you want some tips in the middle of the draft, NFL.com - NFL News
