I should've been patient and waited for tweak's post; first UFC event I've ordered in a long time, and it really reminded me why I'm so sparse in that regard.
I won't even voice my complete opinion on Ortiz and Shamrock; suffice it to say, it's scary to me how bad MMA in general is getting concerning these quick calls. The stoppage wasn't as bad as Shamrock and Sakuraba, but to top that would be a horrible thing. Maybe it's an age fixation; I don't know. Personally, I'm getting weary of seeing Ken being short-changed by another bad call. Tito's reaction was what I'd expect from a 'man' with the maturity of a dope-addicted six year old. He's such an immature child; he hasn't changed at all. His whole 'pour my heart out' act on TUF3 was complete garbage, as he so beautifully illustrated after his second perplexing gift of a 'win'.
I really enjoyed Randy's commentary though, as his voice of experience was a welcome addition. Mike Goldberg needs to stop making refrences to, 'As real as it gets'. It's beyond cliche at this point Mike, no matter how many times you remind us of that quizzical fact.
Arlovski and Sylvia was a real surprise to me. I don't know why Andre didn't go for a takedown, or any takedown for that matter. I don't know what he was trying to accomplish with his stick and move bodyshots, as all Tim had to do was circle and defend for the most part. Although Tim's crack usage is definitely on the rise if he's really dropping lines about Fedor like that. He's alright, but I feel he's imagining a lot that's just not there. He confuses me though; with Arlovski he was very humble and emotional, but the second he's away from the moment, he's Tito with love handles

What was the deal with him crediting his first loss with Andre to his 'horrendous' injury? The arm break was very real, but I remember Arlovski dropping Tim with that killer right(Andre with the glass jaw?

), then following up with a near-perfect achilles lock. Broken arm excuse seems a little hollow to me. Not a bad fight, but it left me scratching my head all the same.
Major props go out to Yves Edwards. His scalp was flowing like Niagra Falls, yet he still wanted badly to continue. That was warranted stoppage, but it was a bummer to see it end that way. Mir is still looking rusty; it'll be interesting to see if he can really get back into fighting shape, both physically and mentally. I personally feel his decision was a bit of a gift, but that seems to be the trend concerning comebacks of a sort; think UFC 60(Tito).
Burkman was awesome, and Neer paid well for his arrogance. Monson is an animal; hopefully he'll humble Tim soon in response to him calling Jeff 'son'. Fickett looked good; hopefully he'll stay active. The other two bouts were decent, but to be honest I wasn't really following either of them very much. All in all, a decent event to me. Not worth $40, but to complain about an ex post facto cost would be a little dumb. I'm just glad Tito was booed out of the arena(although they were chanting his name about thirty seconds into the fight; looks like Vegas is as mob-minded and indecisive as ever

); hopefully the officiating criteria will be re-evaluated as a result of this debacle.
