the fight ended in a three way slit decison after going the full 12 rounds. jermaine taylor holds on to his middleweight belt after what i think was the fight of the year. two judges had the fight at 115-113 and the final judge had it at 114-114, i personally scored it at 114-114 aswell (yes i no, i am a nerd). Jermaine taylor owned this fight when it was in the middle of the ring and winky wright had his way with taylor on the ropes. taylor could barely see out of his left eye which was swelling quickly from an accidental head but earlier in the fight. in the 12 round, winky played it very conservative and that cost him the figth IMO. tayor had his chin over his left foot and was having a hard time standing. winky must have thought he had the fight won to come out in the 12 and box the way he did, he was sticking and moving and i think he threw maybe 2 combo's, he didn't rush him into the corner like he did in previous rounds to finish him off. as i said before, this was the best fight of the year so far IMO, there will be a rematch on this one..note Taylor's record is now 25-0-1 with and winky wrights record is 50-3-1 |
