WWE vs. ECW Head to Head

Three matches for the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head special have been confirmed. The matches, which can be seen live this Wednesday on USA Network at 9/8 CT, are as follows:

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Sabu
In a battle of brawling specialists, RAW’s John Cena will get a taste of the extreme atmosphere when he takes on ECW legend Sabu in one-on-one action.

World Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam
SmackDown’s Rey Mysterio will engage in high-risk combat with Mr. Money in the Bank Rob Van Dam as both men attempt to build momentum heading into One Night Stand.

20-Man Battle Royal – WWE vs. ECW
Edge, Big Show, Mark Henry, Lashley, Carlito and Shelton Benjamin are just some of the Superstars that will represent WWE in the 20-man Battle Royal. Team ECW will be represented by Kurt Angle, Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney, Al Snow and more as WWE and ECW battle for the first time in this type of environment.

Momentum and bragging rights will be on the line as WWE and ECW go head to head just four days before One Night Stand. Don't miss WWE vs. ECW Head to Head Wednesday on USA Network at 9/8 CT.

RVD vs. Mysterio = why?
It's only going to be another hollow win for little Rey. What's the point? He can't lose the belt, no matter how good that'd be. DQ is the only other option, as I see a run-in in the works. RVD would only bring credability to the heavyweight title, and we can't have that, can we?

The rest of the card looks good, even though I'm less than optimistic about the survival of this ECW brand.

I don't think its for the title and i wouldn't be surpised if RVD won just to keep his winning streak alive till ONS

Why have they made rey look so weak as a champ? they don't even focus on the title on SD,its just booker t crap.

It's almost like they want SD to suck.

My bad, fallen; I didn't mean to infer that I thought the title would be on the line. Not having a world champion actually defend his title at an event like this just makes the match that much weaker going in to me, but that's about standard with Smackdown nowadays. I'd like to see RVD take it, but I'm thinking DQ all the same; gotta save that nonexistant face of Mysterio and all. I definitely agree with Pain; Booker's a personal favorite of mine, but since the office is making him do things their way, the whole angle is all the more weak for it. Smackdown is simply crippled by bad storylines and a lack of consistent talent. Change is needed, but all they seem to be able to churn out is more of the same. I feel the greatest injustice the powers that be have committed to the brand as a whole has been the two jokes of champions that've taken the emphasis off of their respective belts. No one really cares about the titles anymore, diehard fans such as myself included. When the top spot in the business becomes cheapened to that degree by second rate holders, it's appaling to me that change isn't immediately made. We need real champions, not placeholders and posers.
