That was a pretty sloppy fight. I was really expecting more takedowns by Matt, so he could show off his wrestling moves. Im glad Matt won though.

oops, spoilers.

yeah i think he was really worried bout his elbow so decieded that stand up would be best and even though it was an ugly fight it still one of the better ones this season

Matt is solid but definitely needs to learn submissions. There were many times in the fight that Matt could have easily performed the rear naked choke. I want to see Matt go far.

He needs to learn how to knee and kick as well. Tons of times Mike wasn't even looking at him with his head down just asking to get kneed in the face. I'm glad Matt won though. Hope his trip to the hospital goes well.

Mike's stand-up was easily some of the poorest I've ever seen, with punches clocking in at about 3mph. The fact that he endlessely hyped his knees(of which he threw about 2&1/2 during the entire bout) as well as his 'street fighting' experience made his showing that much worse. When your stand-up is beaten by a wrestler with a damaged elbow, you know you have to go back to basics in a big way. That being said, I was impressed with Matt's striking and all-around prowess. If he can lock in some submission knowledge he'll be a much larger threat; frankly, I don't know why there isn't some already there. Hopefully he'll bounce back for his semi-match.
