BET Channel To Debut Its' Own MMA Organization
According to industry sources, BET (Black Entertainment Television) is set to launch it's own version of a mixed-martial arts organization.
The BET channel is looking to set up a promotion that mixes professional wrestling matches with legitimate mixed-martial arts fights as well.
The show, tenatively named "The Iron Ring," will feature real fighters, but the focus and promotion will be heavily based around the managers, as each fighter or wrestler will have a celebrity as a manager.
It's an odd concept, much like the IFL, that you can almost bet die-hard MMA fans will **** on. Anytime pro wrestling and MMA is linked together, especially in America, the real fans of MMA don't take kindly to it. I don't see this being any exception.
