Quote: To Be the Man, You Have to Beat the Man's . . . Son
The son of professional wrestling legend Ric Flair knocked an opponent out cold in a HS wrestling tournament . . . AFTER he lost the match. That little WWE-like outburst has now resulted in him being charged with simple assault. The incident occurred in North Carolina back in February when Colby Harden and Flair's son, Reid Fliehr, both 17, were competing in a 189-pound weight class match. After Harden won in overtime, he allegedly jumped up and mocked the theatrical shuffle Ric Flair commonly performs in the ring after a win. It was at that point that his son, according to his mother, decided to--I'm not making this up!--defend dad's honor and promptly tackled Harden from behind, driving him into the floor, briefly knocking him out and sending a swarm of coaches and fans onto the mat. Fortunately, no one was hit with a folding chair and the referee couldn't find the foreign object was used to create a bloody head wound. Both schools were fined $1,000 and young Fliehr was kicked out of the rest of the tournament.
