Serious shades of Arlovski and Buentello here, and I'm afraid that Cesar will be derided as a "half-fighter" for it. He claimed to have a record of 14-0(unsactioned MMA fights), yet that didn't seem to show very well. Namely:
-Frank Shamrock is an amazing striker. Standing up is NOT a good idea.
-His background is well known; definitely not one that which would suit him standing toe to toe with Frank.
-Should've spoken to his family more; Royce didn't beat Ken by butting heads with him.
That being said, I feel Cesar has a good future in MMA ahead of him. He gets my vote for outstandingly humble athlete and role model of the year for sure; in his post fight interview he revealed a strength of character that can't be faked and is rarely shown by men who've won a fight, let alone lost one. I feel he's an excellent man who'se had a bit of a rough start. He freely admits that when the bell rang, his nervousness pushed his game plan right out the window. In that moment he decided to throw punches with Frank, and we see how that turned out.
Frank on the other hand was giddy with success, yet still fairly down to earth about his win. Can't shake all the cocky aftermath though; after all, he's still a Shamrock. Although he's liking the life of being a free agent, he's apparently heading in the direction of Pride. In his own words, he really wants to step in with Sakuraba. That'd definitely be a match to see; I hope it does come around.
Although that's just my take; what do the rest of you think? |
Hi bro. Have not seen footage, but my thought is as my grandfather used to drill into me is " any guy can knock another guy out, on any given day".
PROOF later found me in a funny situation, that ruined me as a boxer and converted me to KickBoxing.
I remember being barred from my boxing gym for two weeks, cause things got heated and I knock the Amataur North Coast Light Heavyweight Champion cold with a right uppercut, funny thing was I was a un-ranked light middleweight at the time

Could never get a fight at my weight again after that

so moved to kickboxing.
