I eat this sometimes at the deli and i am wondering how great of a musclebuilding meal it actually is: Nova lox(smoked salmon) with tomatoe and onions on a whole wheat or pumpernickle bagel
bagels have ALOT of carbs. also salmon is VERY high in fat. Now I know it is "good" fat but you still need to watch the amount you eat. Do you put cream cheese on it?
Ditto with the carbs. (althought the choices you listed both have the highest fiber, yielding the lowest net carbs.)
I wouldn't worry so much about the fat (from the salmon) as I would from the Cream cheese (like cook said). However, smoked salmon if often high in sodium. As a result, this will cause you to retain water.
You could do a lot worse than this meal.

yes it still matters if you eat carbs at any time of the day it matters if you go over your daily macro levels. if you eat the bagel and stay under its fine. but if that bagel put you over your daily allotment of carbs then you have to either not have the bagel or cut some carbs from a different meal. and that goes for all macro's not just carbs
