alot of this guys posts are suspect..

again, im not trying to be a ****..but legend i doubt you, or mr. bhana or anyone else on this site that values their time/information for that matter, wants to deal with someone making erroneous posts..saw fishy stuff in another thread, and it seemed it could not be true..from the other thread he said he "squats 185 for 3 reps and deads 135 for one rep"..which to me alone sounds like a suspect ratio for those lifts regardless of experience/limitations (flexibility, weak points, etc.)...on top of that, after say he "deads 135 for one rep" now he "sumo deads 185", please..also, he claims "185 for 3 reps squatting" which would lead me to believe the max he wouldve posted in this thread would be higher..

it makes no sense..and at first i actually tried to help this guy in his other thread, which is why it pisses me off that people put erroneous stuff on here as if we have nothing better to do than play games.

I weigh 155 and my stats are in my sig. I think you should be doing at least your bw on bench twice on squats and deads. I'm competing soon though and extect to do well. Honestly, no I don't htink you're ready to compete yet.

That ratio is possible I squat 270 and dead 350. I did just start squating recently though, mostly cuz I didn't have a squat rack. Mine'll be even soon though, and that's where you want them.

i max out once every week, but go all out every 2-3 weeks. bin tryin my own version of trainin, somthin based on d conjugate systm.

my current training plan-

mon- chest n bak

flat bench-5-8 sets, not goin till failure untill the last 2or 3 sets
assisted pullups-4-6 sets goin all out at times in the last or 2nd last set

thurs- legs
deadlifts- conventional and sumo
then squats.
1 set of each
then 2 sets of leg curls
i go all out only on the leg curls

sat- calves, arms n shoulders
clean n jerk- 3 sets of 4-7 reps with good form
shoulder db press
close grip bench
cable press down
close grip lat pulldown

i keep lat pulldown n close grip bench for 30 reps or so, helps me recover. use 40 % of 1rm
calves- 2-3 sets of standing calf raises wid 25 reps
gonn cut intensity n jackup d volume for a while, till bout 15th december.
only neurologically demanding day is sat, where i do clean n jerks

Oh for sure I agree, aim to compete! It'll push you and motivate you to lift. Goals are important. I just wanna give you the facts though, I've been looking into competing for a while and you should really bench over your BW before you think about entering You could still do it, just wouldn't do too good. Lift for close to a full year and you should do able to do well at that weight. I've only been lifting for a year but for my age and weight class I do very well.

This needs some work. I'm not gonna tell you do exactly what I do just because it works for me because that'd be stupid. Just some fundumental things. First being conventional deads are way more of a dead exercise than legs. Sumo deads are more of a back exercise too although it does invovle legs to a great degree, I'd do them still on back day. I'd never squat and deadlift on the same day, you just couldn't give 100% on both.

Chest and back worked for Arnold but I haven't heard of it working for anyone since, didn't work for me. It's a push and a pull day combined into one and both those bodyparts are big and take a lot to train. You must be exausted after that. I'd do deads on back day bench on chest and squats on legs and seperate them well. And for strength don't do clean and jerks it'll take away from your other lifts.

For power you could do you have to differentiate between the two. Power being strength plus speed, strength being lifting the max amount of weight.

So you work on a 3 day split? You should lift more than 3 days a week, aim for 4 or 5 but with that intense split 4s fine. I'd suggest changing it some. You need to do more for back than just pull ups.

Has this been working for you? I assume it is cuz you just started, but after you've been lfiting for a while remember what I'm saying cuz that'll most likely provide better gains.

everything sowmyabhattacharya says is a complete lie. the last thread he started he said he was a personal trainer, then admitted he wasn't. he said he deadlifted 135, squatted 185, sparking off a debate on the realism of this statement. now, a week later, he deadlifts 50 pounds more. and now hes asking about powerlifting meets, its a complete joke.

If that's true, that's not cool bro, just be honest, you'll get more out of it if you are and will be stronger in the future. No one thinks less of you if you lie about your weights. EVerything in my sig's 100% accurate and updated. I'm putting up pics soons for people that don't believe it.

i think you meant, we WILL think less of you..and probably lose all respect for you for that matter.

and mike, this is what i was trying to say much earlier on in the thread...i tried to help this guy out in his other posts, but it seemed like BS to me..which is also why i said that the vets from the forum wont wanna waste their time with this guy either once they sniff it out..props to you for all the help youve tried to give this guy, but honestly i think it was a waste.

I have no problem helping people, but this guy's routine is so all over the place bad. If you are legitimately looking for advice, then start googling stuff. Get on an actual proven training routine.

^ So you're admitting that you lie about your numbers? Why? It hardly makes you look cooler.... Idk maybe I misunderstood?

To make it simple and put an end to the thread, at 170-180 pounds lifting these numbers you'd come in last

I'm 165-170 and 16, compare. This is what you'd be up against, I agree, you'd come in last.

I said that no one thinks less of you if you lie about the lifts... everyone thinks less of you, it was supposed to say that no one thinks more of you.

thanks for the help.
1- i had an internship with a gym for two months. since i was not actually an employee or professional, i might have said i was not a trainer in some thread.
anyways, right now my lifts should be something like-
squat- 250
deadlift (conventional)- 160-170
bench-150
plus, i have a 1.5 minute plank! (i hated ab training) right now, i have a weak upper and lower back. thanks for the advise
