If you want to improve your deads I highly recommend looking at my log and my deadlifting routine. I was doing 275 for 12 now it's 315 for 10.

never give up man :), when someone says something like "no you cant compete" or "nah you shouldn't compete" just use that as dedication to keep dong what your doing, prove them wrong

standard of competition is low here. in single ply gear, people in th 68 kg catagory post about 650kg in the nationals for a 6th place rank

I guess the local competition is always weak. I could thrash some of the locals but state comps more be a bit more difficult. The age range is huge. If I'm competing against kids my age then yeah I'll dominated the competition, but if it's college kids then it's a different story. This is partially because powerlifting isn't an extremely popular sport so of course the competition will be less than say football. So if all the lifts are in the 200s or higher I guess you could compete. You may not win though. Personally I'd rather train until I can win without a doubt in my mind. I hate losing and the shame that comes with it, but maybe that's just me.
