I'm already training twice a day and have increased my caloric intake but the problem is both finding a sponsor and competing locally.

^^^^That is the stupidist thing you can do...

1, Get your diet in check
2, Get a strict lifting routine (Suggest a 5X5 routine on ALL basic movements)
3, Get that sponsor
4, Repeat no's 1&2 & keep mkaing improvements
5, Good enough to compete, go for it, primarilly not to win but to gain the experience

No expert on this bro, but if its the strongman comps we all watch, I not only think its about just being strong its about being able to lift awkward shapes and endurance. Lifting conventional bars will only do so much, I dont know about your country but in the uk we have many local strongmen comps ad it gives people the opportunity to enter and gain experience in events such as the truck pull. Ive always found that sponsorship comes if and only when you have achieved some sort of success. The sponsor needs their product endorsed in exchange for supplementing you. I always think if someone is hungry no desperate enough he or she will find a way to make it happen, you may have to start low but im sure there are events out there for you to test the waters.

to be a strong man you WILL have to lift wierd things... bench isnt really gonna do anything for you...the only real training is to actually use the real things they have in competition.... deadlifts from the knees alotta times...shoulder press... fingal fingers...atlas stones..... lifting log... the yolk...farmers walk... 6-950lb tire... it will test your wits, its not like you get one nice clean rep for a max...you must really push yourself, a big bench is nice and all but lets see you pull a boeing 747 down a run way... bend some rebar over your head....flip a car over...those are the things you must be prepared to do... gym lifting can only help you so much...you need experience with the oddities... i would suggest competing in powerlifting first which is what i am going to do in april after i get my bench really high for the Gold's Classic... you gotta start in the lower ranks and then sign up for the strong man events ... most do have weight classes as well.

your whole body must be as strong as it can be anarobicly and aerobicly

i dont know if twice a day is good unless u workout out one time and do cardio the other or lifting and doing powerlifting excercises like log lifting, farmers walk and even then these are the pros not beginners you should stick to 3 times a week at the least and give yourself some recovery time because thats real important and a good diet. no sponsors yet til you have won competions and look at records in your town and when you can beat them you can compete.

You need a high level of strength, and a mastery of the events.
