One of the problems in powerlifting is that some guys let their body fat get way too high.

Well right now sad to say I'm half body fat. I wouldn't mind getting down to like 30% body Fat. I have got some good advice on here and going to try it.

Are you sure that you're half body fat? That doesn't even sound right for a large powerlifter.

You mean you looked at a BMI scale, they are utter crap, have a look and see what it says for all serious weightlifters, no matter how ripped they are the scale will say they are over weight cos it goes on height to weight ratio.

Cardio is a very good option. Do it after your weights and aim for 30 min plus at 130 BPM

It may take a several months of low intensity aerobic cardio to build a base, but once you have, you NEED to start sprinting.

Aerobic cardio results in decreases in GH, Test, and Increases in Cortisol.

Sprinting causes just the opposite.

Aerobic cardio causes decreases in muscle fiber size, and even intraconversion of fast twitch type IIX to the less powerful IIA and IIC.

This doesn't occur with sprinting.

And, in studies done comparing HIIT (sprinting) to steady state cardio, subjects lost 9x as much body from the HIIT training.

You tell me: Line backer or tour de france cyclist?

Cardio is a drag anyway you slice it! with that being said you might want to try sled pulling or get a truck tire and pull it around it will help your GPP (general physical preparedness) and help also help with recovery. I personaly hate cardio and I find this challenging with a sled you can go a little bit then add a plate a bit more diffcult to add weight with a tire use some sand bage or somrthing I personaly made a pulling set up with an eye bolt a tire and a tow strap

Its high intensity.
Its using intervals.
It uses many, if not all, muscles at once.

I'm all for it.
