From the Chair..

“I am been to the top of the Mountain and talked to the Burning Bush!”...at the top of the mountain I looked in every direction and only saw WPC! The Burning Bush told me, The Congress has accomplished much and will do more! I will send three newsletters this weekend on The British, The Clash or “lack off” Titians, and the 2009 WPC Worlds.
The 2008 UK British Nationals...I have been to Canada, Finland, Russia, Latvia, and again to England! The Bulldogs did not disappoint! Let me give you the details:
• Brian and Vanessa engineered and addressed every issue to very high standards and damn near perfection.
• Their staff (table, runners, DJ, score-keepers) of support was independent and extremely efficient.
• Venue was a physically prefect presentation, look at the picture. There was a massive amount to equipment and weights both on the platform and warm-up room.
• Lifters-information was simple and informative and was clearly everywhere.
• Media coverage included internet, paper, and yes, high definition TV through SKYSPORTS. That’s right the real thing!
• The judging was of extremely high standards.
• Sponsorship was strong and the sponsors will present!
• Monies were raise for a cancer charity.
• Awards, certifications, medals were detailed, impressive, and of high quality.
• Venue area/town fun, really fun. We were less than a block from the BIC, Bournemouth International Convention Center, Google it!
• The spotters were extremely experienced and capable, thank you!
• The lifters! Let tell you a short story. The meet director came up to me said, are you ok, you’re quiet! Not me! I was stunned! I remembered the past meets in the WPC and was reflecting the tremendously talented and high caliber/ability of these UK lifters I was witnessing. Both Wayne and I talk about the day’s events at the end of the day to cover issues and points of interest. We are both in agreement that...
• The 2009 WPC WORLDS must be held thought Brian and his organization. This will give the WPC the absolute greatest global impact and exposure and they are READY! In the past several weeks, I have had face to face conversations with many of the country heads and they agree!
• Is this plain enough, 2009 WPC World Championships should be held in ENGLAND, you can ask me anything!
Wayne Pullum...GOOD JOB! There are always tuff calls and decisions to make......you make them!
