First, does anyone do these besides me? They happen to be one of my favorite core exercises.

Second, and the reason I started this thread, does anyone have a link to video's or picture diagrams of how to do them correctly? I want to prescribe them to my clients, but a littoral description is nothing without picture/video.

Thanks

Br

Frosty, those aren't what I'm referring too. Perhaps I used the wrong name.

They use a barbell. You anchor the barbell against the wall, and with arms straight and grasping the end, and knees bent, you begin bent to the right with your right knee bent then swing it over your head keeping your arms straight. You then repeat to the left and back to the right.

I'm still having trouble finding a video or even good verbal description

Im thinking i have a visual picture of what you are doing, but if my visual is correct i dont think i have EVER seen it done.

A place that might know something about this is Gym Jones. They helped train the Spartans in the movie 300 and use alot of old ideals and techniques to train. You may try and see if you can shoot them an email, they may be able to hook u up with a video or something.

From your description, this is basically what im getting. Set the barbell like you were doing a t-bar row against a corner of the wall, and grab the other end. Then, bending and flexing to each side after, swing your end over your head to each side with arms straight.

You got it. I actually found a video on thegreenbody.com.
I've registered, and they've yet to send me an email verification, so I can't log in to view it yet. That was 4 hours ago. Very annoying.

Br
First and foremost, this set up is almost exactly like the tbar row in the the other end of the BB is actually on the ground and pushed up against the corner, correct?

Additionally, this is done with a standard 45 lb BB im assuming, and with that, would you advance to adding weight to the bar? If so, where?

Last but not least, i have a hard time keeping the other end of the bar on the ground when doing T-bar rows. It seems like having it up above my head would lead to even more problems controlling the other end of the bar.

About your actual comment, for some reason companies websites are slow about their email verification process. Its dumb, especially when i dont think there is any real excuse. If you can click on a link on their webpage and have it load within a certain amount of seconds, i dont see why it would ever take over 5 minutes to send out a verification email.

Can't say I've ever done them mate.

Not what you're looking for, but have you heard of diesel crew? Diesel Crew Website::Innovative Strength Training for Elite Athletes

I think you'd like a lot of the stuff on that site, there's a great collection of some of the less than orthodox lifts.

Frosty: I anchor it in the corner of a wall, and I wrap the end in a towell. Yes, you'd progress to adding weight to the side you hold. I start my clients with just the bar, then progress 5 pounds at a time.

Mabo: Love It, nice find!
