Ok so today the headlines in about every news station state Ceo of GM Released we all no obama fired this man. This was a crazy move considering that this was the first step notzi german took in its government takeover. What does obama know about selling cars other than just keep butting billions into a company who has to much input cost to sell cars a supply that people do not want cause to many people like toyota lol and they are creating no profit in that past 2 years why should he take over and waste out tax payer dollars and what other corparate companies will the govt take over and regulate next?

First I heard of it.

I dunno about it. I can see both side of the argument. I remember watching some 60 mins show or w/e it was while on the stationary bike pre-spring break with an interview with GM about their crappy $ performance and record losses. It was all BS talk about how GM is improving and making more energy-efficient cars and how things were looking up. Of course they're gonna say that, duh. Makes people angry that the same people will be in charge in the future after this debacle so i can understand Obama taking the steps to put in fresh people so that company has a better shot at making money again and not going under.

Considering the government has spent a lot of money to try to bail out some of these large car and loan places, I would think after I gave a lot of money to someone and they are doing no better, they would get fired.

One thing I do not like is the government bailing out places and basically buying out a big chunk of a lot of companies, then starting to run them. The government tells us what to do and when and where to do it. Now they want to invade our privacy more openly than they do already and seeing them taking over companies and banks is no surprise.

The thing is the government does a crap job running it's country so why should they think they can run a big company any better.

Our government gets more power over the people every day. If they don't like something you do they just make it illegal then throw your ass in jail. They take money from taxes, spend it pretty much how ever they want and when they do a ****ty job they just borrow more money and raise taxes.

Land of the free my ass, our country is getting more screwed one way or another by some pencil pusher every day. Sorry to say but I am not impressed with much that Obama or his team has done so far.

Are we better off? I'd have to say no, at least my personal life and family, nothing is better on our side of the fence.

Sorry but hope and good intentions don't pay the bills.

The sad thing is we are still on a decline, so it's still getting worse.

Where are the jobs? California is at 10.5% unemployed and I don't see anything on the news where companies are taking on workers. The government took out a big ass stimulus package that has so far only stimulated CEO and upper level management at companies they bailed out.

Like Obama said have hope, believe, blahh blahh.

What Obama needs to hope is the American people don't come kick him in the ass for making a lot of promises to help employ and get people working so they can feed their families and just have this country become more f'd up than it already is.

Something related to the health care reform.

I know a few people that work at Footlocker, they are not going to higher any new full time employees. They are going to get new part time employees who do not receive the same health benefits.

Exactly, Govt should have no say in what a company does or does not do. yeah GM may have had the worst CEO for all we know but Obama making them get rid of him is scary. In future instances whos to say what the bribe is behind orders like that. Thats just why it shouldnt happen. Breeding ground for corruption. Either the govt will back them or they wont.

We went from the government to help organize our country, to the government running peoples lives. There is 1,000,000 different laws on what you can and can't do, they make laws that are against the amendments like not being allowed to have guns in certain cities which is the 2nd amendment.

You have weed legal for use in medical cases at the state level, but can't at the fed level. You have laws that vary from state to state which is nonsense. The government takes our money from taxes then neglectfully wastes it day after day. We have the right to vote and it pretty much does nothing since once these a-holes make it into office there is no way we can stop or change anything they do anyways.

This is not the land of the free, it's plain and simply fk'd up. You walk down a street and get your ass shot or stabbed or beat down and robbed, but you can't protect yourself because you can't carry a gun. If someone breaks into your house and you fk them up they can sue you if they get hurt. Kids and families are homeless and fing starve to death. It's hard to find and keep a job. Our education system is falling behind the times and funding isn't there like it should be.

Sad thing is, I've never seen a poor CEO, upper management or politician. The government lines their pockets with our money then gives us some left over scraps. When my tax dollars go to bail out a company, then the company takes money and gives people bonuses so they can buy a new boat, that's a fing problem.

The government isn't a government, it's more like the fing mafia, minus the self respect for its own.

Are we slowly becoming the USSA. United Socialist States of America?

Government has been reckless with the bailout and now they are being reckless with the backlash.

Many Americans are asleep. Some don't wanna deal with this and others argue about it but are nothing more but noise in the air. When and If America becomes a shadow of what it used to be are we going to blame government? How much of ourselves will be to blame for voting these fools into office to do this biding?

I need to add one other thing.

Our local congressman ran for office this past year and won. Well, shorlty there after he stepped down so that he can run for an office instate. He didn't go into alot of details about why the change except to say something to the effect that there is so much pressure and disdain and under the table things going on in Washington that it literally suffocates you. Very telling of our government!

All good points, but tell me this.

What the hell can we do about anything? The people have NO power, we get to vote yes or no, we don't get to pick the laws we want, we only vote whether we like one or the other more. If you don't like either too bad.

We don't pick the people we want into office, they have person one, two or three and we pick out of those and most of the people have NO idea who or what these people have ever done.

Barak Obama??? Who the hell is this guy, until he ran for president I NEVER heard of him a single day in my life. Now he is our president and we are supposed to "hope" that he brings "change". WTF.

American government is simple, you pick red or pick blue, if you want another color FU This already is the USSA. I'm at the point where I don't even care what's on the news any more. Our country is run and has been run by a bunch of lying, manipulating, crooked ass people since the day I was born and I agree with ECH, you better be prepared to watch your own ass because this government won't be knocking on your door when the lights go out to give you food and water.

They already let women and children lay in the streets homeless and die.

Look at how pathetic things got when Katrina hit, people were dying in the streets in modern times and couldn't do crap about it. What happens if we're invaded or have another really bad natural disaster, who is going to help us?

Yep, what can we do? I have never gotten into politics as far as taking an active role beyond voting. I do know the way people make their voices heard is by bombarding the White and their congressman as well as raising up a grassroots effort to let your voice be heard.

There are TEA (taxed enough already)parties rising up in different cities to protest the reckless spending congress is doing. If you google it you can find some cities. Atlanta is having on April 15 I believe.

Attitudes like yours is what is needed to start a grassroots efforts to remove the gov't people from office. You gotta do it in a 'peaceful' way. In the near future something is bound to blow up because I think the winds of socialism are beginning to blow a little harder. Like the outer squalls of a hurricane. Worst case scenerio is Capital Hill is stormed like the Bastille in France.

I was joking about kicking their ass, I'd rather rob them of their money lol, but seriously, don't you all feel pretty helpless right now?

I have friends and family with homes worth over $100,000 LESS than they payed. 2 people in my immediate family recently lost jobs. All of this money is being thrown around and borrowed.

Tax went up 1%, tax coming out of your pay check is going up. They just take, take, take and they are the ones pissing away money, why do the people always get the short end of the stick? Is it really our fault they can't do their jobs, so what's the solution? I guess take more money from us to fix what they fk'd up in the first place?

It's really getting old, a lot of people work pretty damn hard and to have some a-hole jack up taxes to quick fix the issues they created is pure bs to me.

What happens if we're invaded or have another really bad natural disaster, who is going to help us?

its OUR country, not theirs. as a great man once said, "you can take my rifle when you pry it from my cold dead hands!"

Exactly, I like how they say, "well if we banned guns this could have been prevented". Which you know is complete BS. With probably close to 100 million guns or whatever the number is in the US it's a little late to worry about criminals having guns.

Look at the guy that walked into a place and just killed 13 people. Waiting on the police to do something obviously didn't help those people very much considering they are all dead.

"But" if one of them had a firearm on them you and put down that nut, there might be a different story going on. The government acts like you can count on them to protect you but the truth is, they haven't been doing much besides narrowing down our rights and neglectfully pissing away our tax money.

I agree, I've been to places like Arizona where you can walk with your firearm on your side in the open in public and stores and believe it or not, people were not running around killing people lol.

I believe anyone within reason, should be allowed to protect themselves and have a fighting chance to save their own lives when the sh*t hits the fan and some nut job decides today the world is going to pay and starts killing people.

Which I would add is a growing trend. Seems like the number of incidents where people are going on a rampage and then cowardly ending there own lives, is increasing.

I wonder what new laws or waiting periods they will add to people trying to buy guns now. Isn't it strange you can only buy a gun so often in one state, but in others you can buy a new gun each day?

It just seems odd that laws vary from one state to another, when the constitutions says, you can own a fire arm to protect yourself. I love how the law gets manipulated to fit whatever the local politicians think is right for their state.
